Fire shuts down Paris Montparnasse train line

French TGV trains

A huge fire at an electrical facility in the south of Paris caused the closure of the Montparnasse train line. Montparnasse is one of Paris's major station, handling trains to and from the southwest, including Tours/St Pierre des Corps (Loire Valley) and Bordeaux. Some trains were running again in the late afternoon on Friday, but anyone planning to travel through Montparnasse station in the near future should check schedule information on the SNCF web site.
