Conquer an Alpine glacier without breaking a sweat
A throwback to a Hand Crafted Travel guided tour of Switzerland in 1998. This group, standing at over 10,000' with the Aletsch Glacier in the background, may look like they've just hiked to the top, but actually we all rode the train up. The ride in the Jungfrau Bahn train from Kleine Scheidegg to the Jungfraujoch station takes just about 30 minutes. Once on top there are all kinds of outdoor activities, an ice palace carved into the glacier, and a number of cafés and restaurants where you can relax and enjoy the views.
Allmendhubel, Switzerland
Allmendhubel is moderate hike or a short funicular ride from the Alpine village of Mürren, in the heart of the Berner Oberland Alps. Not a bad place to blow your own horn.
